Nowoczesność w polonistycznej eduk@cji. Pytania, problemy, perspektywy

(Eng. Modernity in Polish Studies educ@tion. Questions, problems, perspectives)

The polysemous dimension of interpreting contemporary phenomena should become a feature of today’s humanist education. Polish Language and Literature education at school should be accompanied by pluralism and syncretism, as well as a balanced mix of expansive cyberculture and tradition, which is still the foundation of knowledge. I am in favour of an education that grasps the essence of poetry, has an awareness of art and correctly recognises the new forms of modernity. In this sense, this volume, which is a multifaceted, interdisciplinary discussion, a multidimensional dialogue, brings together all that is scattered, restores the notion of modernity to a dimension of positive, constructive, creative and imaginative activity.

From the Introduction by prof. dr hab. Anna Pilch

This volume brings a wealth of insights relevant to Polish Studies, or more broadly, humanities education, ranging from anthropologically oriented reflections on the place and role of school (past and present) in the experience of successive generations and eras, to issues related to the forms and content of education, both literary and linguistic.
